Escape to the River Sea blog tour

We are delighted at RR HQ to be part of this special blog tour to celebrate the publication of Escape to the River Sea. We know many Reading Rockers are huge fans of Journey to the River Sea by Eva Ibbotson and as mega fans of Emma Carroll too, Queen of historical fiction, they were eagerly awaiting this follow-on story. Well, I can tell you Reading Rockers you won’t be disappointed.

Extract of Escape to the River Sea

Thank you so much to Macmillan Children’s Books for allowing us to share with you the opening two chapters. They are gripping and will absolutely have your pupils wanting to read more.

In the extract you will meet Rosa Sweetman who is in England after arriving as a kindertransport several years ago. It’s Rosa who we follow to the Amazon Rainforest in search of jaguars, ancient giant sloths and somewhere to belong with friend of the family Yara Fielding. What she finds is Yara’s lively, welcoming family on the banks of the river and, together, they face a danger greater than she could ever have imagined.
