“This book is very different to any other World War 2 books I have read! If you like spy or detective fiction you will love it. The characters are very interesting and it is fun working out who is good or bad! You learn a lot about refugees who came to Britain during the war and people’s attitudes towards them. It is an exciting book which you leaves you suspecting everyone!”

“My favourite characters in this book are Ned, Anni and Kip. I liked reading about how the paintings were so important to be protected in World War 2 and how they did it. The setting switches between Wales, London and Bletchley Park. It was interesting to think about how we had spies in Britain in World War 2! I haven’t read the first book yet, I Spy, but now I want our book club to read it!”

“I love reading books about World War 2. My favourites were Carrie’s War and Letters from the Lighthouse but this is now my new favourite. Instead of focusing on just the evacuee experience it looked at the jobs that people has to do during the war and how hard it was. It kept me on my toes as there was lots of excitement and I was trying to work out what would happen next and if Ned would succeed in his mission.”
