DESCRIPTION:Reading Rocks are pleased to announce an exclusive workshop with picture book author Sarah Tagholm: Writing in First Person. \nAbout the event\nAt this event for writers and aspiring children’s authors\, Sarah will talk about the inspirations and experiences behind We are the Wibbly. \nShe will discuss techniques to finding your characters’ voice and run an idea generating exercise. She will also run an exercise based on her time working with British film director Mike Leigh\, focussing on ‘getting in to character.’ \nThere will be an opportunity for attendees to share their work should they wish. \nSarah will provide recommendations and read excerpts of other first person narrated books from children’s and adult literature and there will be an opportunity for questions at the end of the session. \nHere’s Sarah to introduce the event: \n\n\nFocus Book\nThe session will be focused on We are the Wibbly\, written by Sarah and illustrated by Jane McGuinness\, which is released 28th March 2024\, the day after the workshop. \nBuy the book\nAnyone who buys the book through the Reading Rocks website pre-release will be sent a code to get FREE ACCESS to this highly anticipated event. \nThe book will be shipped on 28 March 2024 at the latest and will be signed by the lovely Sarah herself! \nYou can pick up your copy of the book here.
