What our pupils thought
“I like the funny poems and I love how the have included a range of animals. My favourite poem is called ‘A vision on the moor’, especially the onomatopoeia of flit, flit.”
“I loved the book because I love poetry. My favourite poems were the ‘unlucky one’ and ‘secret pet’. I like these because they give you clues to what the animal is a bit like a riddle and the answer can be found by turning the page upside down.”
“I liked the rhyming poems especially Elephantine Problem.”
“The book made me laugh, my favourite poem was ‘cobra gets comfy’, it was written in the shape of the snake.”

What our educators thought
“These poems are great as they are short and based around animals the children are already familiar with. This book could be used an independent reading in KS2 and would be enjoyed by KS1 if read by an adult. We especially enjoyed the poems where you had to guess the animal, the children then wrote their own. The illustrations really brought the poems to life.”
