Eric Huang Author Event
March 14, 2025 @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm
About Eric Huang
Eric Huang grew up in Los Angeles. He’s always loved science fiction and fantasy. When he studied palaeontology at university he had dreams of discovering dinosaurs, real-life dragons! Field work didn’t live up to his Jurassic Park dreams though, so he spent a year doing odd jobs, including giving tram tours at Universal Studios, before landing a temp job as a secretary at Disney Publishing. The temporary position turned into a career in publishing spanning three decades and three continents! He was an editor at Penguin Australia, one of the children’s publishers at Penguin UK, and helped launch LEGO Books. Today Eric is an author, podcaster, and a lecturer on the Masters in Publishing programme at City St George’s, University of London.

About the Books
Book title: Guardians of the New Moon: Ming and Miaow’s Great Race
All Miaow wants is to enjoy his peaceful, solitary life as a temple guardian catching mice. But when the Jade Emperor invites all creatures on Earth to compete in a Great Race, the reserved cat finds himself reluctantly entering – and worse, socialising!
Spirited and fiery, shapeshifter Ming is Miaow’s polar opposite, and she’s determined to make him her new best friend. But she hadn’t counted on Miaow making other friends too. As the race heats up, things start to unravel… Can the pair (and their friendship) make it to the finish line?
Book title: Guardians of the New Moon: The Year of the Rat
Fresh off the excitement of the Great Race, Ming and Miaow are officially Guardians of the New Moon and eager for more adventure! Their first mission: to take race-winner Su home and help her prepare for the inaugural Year of the Rat.?
Ming is keen to get started, but Miaow finds himself distracted. Things are tense with Su since the rat tricked Miaow during the Race, and the two just can’t seem to be in the same room without causing chaos. It gets even messier when their squabbling catches the attention of a furious sea goddess, who is determined to teach Miaow and Su a lesson. Can the longtime frenemies learn to work together, or is the Year of the Rat doomed to disaster?
