#RR_BooksAwards 2025 Winners

The #RR_BooksAwards celebrates the brilliant books that have featured in our teacher subscription book box service for the academic year 2024/25. Books are selected for the box as excellent examples of quality children’s literature for the primary classroom. The subscription service seeks to broaden teacher’s book knowledge and to bring diverse, inspiring and engaging books into the classroom.

The four categories are: EYFS, KS1, LKS2 and UKS2

The winners are voted for by teachers and schools.

This year’s winners:

EYFS

Yetis Don’t Exist by Kate Thompson and Loretta Schauer, published by Templar Books (978-1800788237)

What the voters said:

“I love the pictures especially when you can follow the map across a double spread.”

“It’s a lovely humorous story proving that yetis do indeed exist with a great twist at the end. Lovely illustrations.”

KS1

LKS2

What the voters said:

“Really fun characters, exciting and pacy plot with lots of humour, and the artwork is so beautiful. A really lovely take on the Lunar New Year tale and Asian mythologies in general!”

“It brings a the Zodiac Race to life in such a fun and fresh way – and the characters are brilliant!”

“It’s refreshing – a wonderful cultural addition to KS2 reading. Ming and Miaow are brilliantly written – they bring much fun to the adventures that they go on and kids love it.”

UKS2

What the voters said:

“Eve’s writing is clever, funny and fast paced, and invites all readers along on the journey. Exploring a period of history that is often over looked, and celebrates the diversity in London.”
