About Harriet Howe
Harriet’s first word was ‘book’, she’s loved stories ever since, so it’s a dream come true to end up writing her own.
Her debut picture book, Tiger’s Last Roar (illustrated by Katie Cottle) was chosen as Booktrust’s Book of the Day as was her festive story, The Street Where Santa Lives (illustrated by Julia Christians) which also featured on CBeebies Bedtime Stories. Her new book, Follow the Leader (illustrated by Ariel Landy) is a rhyming romp about bossiness, bickering and learning to work as a team.
When not writing, Harriet works in television. But she’s happiest with a pencil in one hand, a cup of tea in the other, brewing up her next story.

What to expect from the event
Swing, roll and stomp along to this interactive storytelling session.
We’ll talk about how we create characters, quiz you on some amazing animal facts, and after reading our story, Follow the Leader, we’ll all have a go at creating some brilliant new characters of our own!
