About Julie & Katy

Julie

Julie is the author of over one hundred books for children. She lives in the UK and once lived on a farm with 300,000 rainbow trout. Now, she’s based in Cornwall with her noisy family and their white wolf – who cunningly disguises as a dog. When she’s not busy writing, she likes baking and eating cake, walking by the sea or flying over it on her magic carpet. She also loves to read and rarely goes anywhere without at least one book!

Katy

Katy is an illustrator from Brighton who loves to travel and see the world! Her favourite thing to do is draw and document her thoughts and feelings. If you don’t see her drawing then you’ll find her reading a book or hiking a mountain somewhere!

What to expect

A brief talk on how Julie Sykes and Katy Riddell worked together on the Woodland Magic series. What the series is about. An age appropriate introduction to rewilding and how we can all help to care for and protect the environment with small rewilding projects. Create a story together using prompts from the Woodland Magic bag. Katy illustrating as we go along. Q and A to finish.

Here’s the author with an introduction to get your pupil’s excited about the event:
